Two people, one chainsaw, shared vision
Precision Trees was started in 2023 by Seth and Virginia Mischeski
Seth is the one you’ll meet on-site. He started his career in horticulture before falling into arboriculture (his words: “saw a guy with a chainsaw, thought that looked pretty cool”). Seventeen-plus years later, he’s a NZQA-qualified senior arborist who still thinks that guy with the chainsaw had the right idea.
Virginia is a chartered accountant, and runs the business side of Precision Trees. She’s very active in the business, but you won’t see her up a tree with a chainsaw.
Meet the crew

Seth Mischeski
Director / Senior Qualified Arborist
Runs the tools and the team. NZQA-qualified arborist with a horticulture qualification behind him and 17+ years in the trade. Loves animals almost as much as chainsaws … ask him about the ducklings.

Virginia Mischeski
Director
Chartered accountant, co-director, and the reason Precision Trees runs like an actual business. Keeps the books, the bank and the boys in check. Loves to holiday, sing about Jesus, and she once taught a bird to fly.

Pete Wilson
Qualified Senior Arborist
Pete has been involved in most aspects of tree work. Powerline clearing big removals, hedge trimming, crane work and he has even been apart of a helicopter job.
Pete loves his felling and if there is a way for the tree to slot the gap he will ace it every time.
Pete loves his wood working and is a huge family man!

Reece Watson
Qualified Arborist
Reece is a weapon on the tools, and nothing is a problem for him. He thrives on technical, tricky jobs and is always looking to push himself. On site, he takes no shortcuts and holds every job to the highest standard, always looking to upskill and broaden his knowledge. Outside of work, Reece loves his sports and has recently had a blast travelling, working abroad and holidaying.
We say what we’ll do, and do what we say – in contact within 24 hours, every time
Health & safety
Precision Trees holds SiteWise Gold accreditation — a level of health and safety compliance that some of the country’s largest tree contractors still haven’t reached. It’s not just a badge for us: it’s why councils and commercial contractors across Christchurch and Mid Canterbury trust us on their sites.
