From branch pile to garden mulch

What mulch is good for

A quick note on fresh mulch
Soil structure is one of the most important things for your trees – the better the soil, the better the tree, and mulch plays a big part in getting there.
That said, freshly chipped mulch takes a bit of nitrogen from the soil as it starts to break down, before releasing it back later.
That’s no issue at all for established trees and shrubs with deep root systems, but if you’re mulching around small, shallow-rooted plants or a vegetable garden, we’d recommend letting it break down for a couple of months first or using it on pathways in the meantime rather than straight onto the beds.

Take it or leave it
We can leave the mulch on-site for your own garden or take it away entirely if you’d rather a completely clear finish.
Keen to save a bit of money? You can also skip the chipping altogether and sort the branch clean-up yourself, just let us know when we quote the job.
And if you change your mind halfway through wrestling a trailer-load of branches, no stress, we can always come back and chip it up for you later.
