Built to work alongside your team, not around it
Precision Trees isn’t just a residential tree crew – we regularly work alongside earthmoving contractors, civil companies and local councils across Canterbury. If your project needs a qualified arborist who understands contractor sites, health and safety requirements, and how to communicate on a busy job – that’s us.
SiteWise Gold accredited
We are proud to hold a SiteWise Gold health and safety standard. For principal contractors who need to know exactly who they’re bringing onto site, that matters. We’re fully insured, including public liability, and we come with our induction paperwork ready to go – no chasing us for documents before you can get us on-site.
Machine-assisted felling
For larger removals, we work directly alongside diggers and other heavy machinery to bring trees down safely and efficiently – a different discipline to standard tree work, and one that demands tight communication. Our crew wears ‘Protos Comms’ – Bluetooth communication units built into our earmuffs – so we can talk clearly to each other and to machine operators over the noise of a running chainsaw or chipper. It’s a small piece of gear that makes a big difference to how safely a site runs, and it’s not something every local operator uses.

Standover work
When earthworks are happening near mature or protected trees, we’ll put a qualified arborist on-site to keep an eye on root zones and canopy while other contractors work – stepping in on the spot if machinery is getting too close to a root system that needs protecting. We regularly act as the go-between for contractors, councils and neighbours, making sure everyone’s on the same page and the tree in question actually survives the project.
Arborist reports
Need a professional opinion on a tree’s health or safety – for a council process, a heritage tree, a school, or before you buy or develop a property? We provide clear, practical arborist reports: what state the tree is in, what we’d recommend, and why. We’re currently investing further in this area, with the team working toward higher-level arborist qualifications specifically to support more detailed reporting work.
